About the Role
As a Domestic Assistant, your primary role is to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our elderly residents. Your duties include but are not limited to the following:
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Room Cleaning:
Clean and sanitise residents' rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, changing bed linens, and tidying personal spaces.
Bathroom Cleaning:
Thoroughly clean and disinfect bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, and bathtubs.
Common Areas:
Maintain cleanliness in common areas such as lounges, dining room, hallways, by dusting, vacuuming, and mopping floors.
Surface Sanitisation:
Regularly wipe down and disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and handrails to prevent the spread of infections.
Laundry Services:
Collect, wash, dry, fold, and distribute residents’ personal clothing and bed linens. Perform minor repairs and ironing to ensure residents' clothing and linens are in good condition.
Waste Management:
Empty waste bins, manage recycling, and ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste following the care home protocols.
Clean and disinfect waste disposal areas to maintain hygiene standards.
Stocking and Supplies:
Monitor and restock household supplies such as toilet rolls, hand-washing products, and paper towels around the bathrooms, toilets and resident’s bedrooms.
Report low stock levels to the Manager/deputy Manager and assist in ordering new supplies as needed.
Additional Duties:
Participate in special cleaning projects or deep cleaning tasks as assigned by the Manager/Deputy Manager.
Requirements
You have a minimum of 3-6 months experience of working within the Cleaning industry – with a understanding and awareness of care regulations and legislation.
A good level of competency using Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
Although you will work as part of the TCOU family, it is equally as important that you can manage your own time and activities for this role.
You will have the ability to cope with pressure and last minute change.
Please be advised that you will need an Enhanced DBS check in order to fulfil this role. We can accept a DBS from the Update Service or assist you with a check if successful.
